Built like a bear: strong, patient, made to last.
Bjorn Fitness is a small-group coaching gym in Potsdam, NY. We call it the Forge, because it’s where adults forge their bodies, one session at a time.
Why a bear
Most gyms are built for people who are already fit.
We built ours for everyone else: For the person who hasn’t trained since school sports. For the parent whose own health slipped to the bottom of the list. For the professional who has tried the apps, the challenges and the January memberships, and is ready for something that actually lasts.
Bjorn means bear, and bears don’t sprint through life. They build strength steadily, store what they need and come out of every winter ready. That’s the kind of fitness we coach: patient, powerful and built for the long haul.
Inside, the gym is the Forge. Our coaches are Shapesmiths. Every client is an Adventurer, and every Adventurer has a dragon to slay: the goal that brought them through our door.
We tried one-on-one training and large group classes before landing here. One-on-one was unsafe and too much chit-chat in an empty room. Big classes left the people who needed the most help with the least of it. So we cap our floor at six Adventurers per Shapesmith: small enough that your coach sees you, every set.
Our promise is simple: show up, and we’ll guide you the rest of the way.

Every member of our team signs this code when they join and is held to it as the standard. It’s how we make sure the people coaching you are the kind who help you win. Why we wrote it.

Life at the Forge
We train hard. We also wear wizard hats.
Costume contests, theme days and seasonal challenges. Getting strong is serious work, so we had better have fun doing it!

We’re a local, independent gym in Market Square Mall. Our Adventurers filled 100 gallons of bins with school supplies for local students, and we were so proud to deliver it.
